Our Tutors

We have so many fantastic tutors across the country we couldn't possibly show them all!  They come from such a variety of backgrounds that it is virtually impossible to pin down what a typical MfSF tutor is!  We thought the best way to show them off would be to show them off!

Claire is one of our Senior Tutors and has been working with Music for Schools since 2005.  She is responsible for looking after our other tutors around Cheshire.  As well as her Senior Tutor duties, Claire teaches at 3 different schools in the area.  When possible, Claire likes to make sure pupils are involved in bands and ensembles!

Michelle has been teaching on behalf of Music for Schools since 1994 - one of our longest serving tutors!  Michelle delivers lessons at 6 different schools in Cheshire all of which she has an excellent relationship with!

Jane started working with Music for Schools in 2015. She teaches at 7 of our schools in Cheshire and her own daughter learnt through Music for Schools too!  Jane is really bubbly and has an 'up for anything' attitude.

Kevin has been teaching on behalf of MfSF since 2001!  Kevin has the privilege of teaching at one of our biggest schools where he also runs a school band.  He regularly enters the school band into competitions!

Brian is the longest serving MfSF tutor, and started way back in 1993.  He has well and truly earned his stripes!

Paula is on of our Senior Tutors and has been with us since 2008.  She looks after our tutors around Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk as well as running our termly Fundays!  Paula is a very enthusiastic, fun and encouraging tutor, so much so that she has a waiting list at one of her schools in Brentwood!

Melissa has been with us since 2004 and teaches at our schools around Colchester, Halstead and Braintree.  Melissa is always encouraging our pupils to get involved with school bands and ensembles!

Lenny is one of our youngest tutors, and brings with him loads of enthusiasm!  He has a background in choral singing too and even sang at the Royal Wedding in 2011!

Hannah started working with Music for Schools back in 2004 and took a few years off to raise her children.  She is now back and teaches at schools in Clacton on Sea and Holland on Sea.  She has recently set up a band at one of her schools!

Amy has been working with Music for Schools since 2007 and teaches at schools in Wickford and Benfleet.  Amy has a relaxed and calm style of teaching which makes pupils feel at ease.

Bev is one of our Senior Tutors and started working with Music for Schools around 17 years ago!  She started off with two schools but has since increased her teaching time and delivers lessons in 9 different schools in Medway.  Bev is passionate about getting children to play as a larger group and runs not only school bands but also a community band in Cliffe and the Gravesend Borough Training Band.  Bev is very proactive in planning, organising and running Music Fundays around Kent and likes to encourage all of her pupils to get involved in them!

Sue has been teaching with Music for Schools since 2008.  She delivers lessons in 9 different schools around Dover, Deal and Folkestone.  Sue likes to get as many pupils as possible involved in school bands and ensembles.  She currently runs 5 different school bands!

Richard joined Music for Schools back in 2004.  He currently teaches in 8 Primary Schools around Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.  Richard helps to organise and run Music Fundays twice a year and encourages as many of his pupils as possible to get involved.

Tony started working with MfSF in 1999!  He teaches at 6 Primary Schools around Maidstone and Sittingbourne.  Tony helps us out with arranging music for our termly Fundays.

Helen has been with Music for Schools since 2016 and her bubbly nature is so infectious!  Her pupils love her to pieces, and speaking of pieces, her other job is working in instrument repair in Canterbury!

Penny only started in 2019, but is such an asset to the MfSF family.  She always goes the extra mile for her pupils and parents, and she has endless patience!

Emma is our Senior Tutor for Yorkshire - she has seemingly endless energy and patience, and we are very lucky to benefit from her wealth of experience.  She teaches in two schools in Horsforth, and has her own business in Bid Management and is a published author to boot!  No end to her talents!

Dave started with Music for Schools when he lived down in Kent back in 2007, and stayed with us when he relocated to Yorkshire!  Schools and pupils love his easy going style, and he is a pleasure to have on board.

Gabi has been with us since 2015 and teaches at two schools - one of which is one of our biggest schools, with nearly 600 pupils on roll and well over 50 learning with us!  She was also hugely involved with our Recorder Club trials!

Freya started with MfSF in 2018, and always impresses us with her 'can-do' attitude.  She doesn't shy away from responsibility and even within her first year with us had successfully entered nearly 20 children for exams, all of them passing with flying colours!

Vicky has been with MfSF since 2015 and teaches across 5 schools in Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire.  Vicky is a great addition to the teaching team and she has even loaned us her husband for piano accompaniment work!

Daisy started with Music for Schools in 2011, and has a great relationship with her schools and pupils.  She has helped us with our Fundays and in her spare time also does a lot of singing!

Pat is quite simply one of our most dedicated and enthusiastic tutors!  Having spent most of her working life in IT she is now completely devoted to her life as musician and tutor.  She is our Senior Tutor in Oxfordshire and is passionately inspiring our other tutors!

Csenge started with Music for Schools in 2018.  She is a wonderful member of the teaching team, and her own two children have lessons with us, although with a different tutor of course!

Ali started in 2016, getting back into music after having her son.  We have seen her confidence grow so much since she started, and she even helped to run an exam session for the first time in 2019!

Helen has had two stints with MfSF and in total has been with us for over 10 years in Banbury!
