We get lots of enquiries about whether children younger than 7 can learn a musical instrument. While we feel that Key Stage 1 children are a little too young (and in some cases simply not quite physically big enough to manage one of our standard instruments) we like to encourage musical enthusiasm whenever we can!
In some schools we are thrilled to be able to offer a Recorder Club for Year 2 pupils. The club runs for 30 weeks (from September to July) and lasts for 20 minutes, at a time agreed between our tutor and each school. We can accept a minimum of 10 pupils and a maximum of 25 in our Recorder Clubs. We can accept new starters part-way through the academic year - the number of sessions being paid for will simply be adjusted accordingly.
Each pupil will receive a FREE RECORDER that they can keep, however there is a very small fee for the club itself which covers the cost of the tutor and the resources we use.
Recorder Club costs £1 per week and we offer the first 10 sessions half price at just £5.
