April 2013 - Kent

It is particularly rewarding for us to hear when our pupils have gone on to achieve great things.  Please click here to read about our once-pupil Emily Christian from Ditton and her successes and aspirations.  Our tutor Richard Milford should be very proud, particularly given that flute is not his favourite instrument, not that you'd know!

December 2012 - Kent

Joseph Adams from Pembury in Kent is about to move schools, but his mum tells us that he has enjoyed his lessons tremendously and is looking forward to taking his Grade 1 with his new tutor.  Mum took the opportunity to thank us for our service and for the enthusiasm our scheme had given to children learning with us.  Thank you for the kind words.

September 2012 - Oxfordshire

We have recently received this lovely card from one of our parents whose child attended West Oxford Primary School.  Harry has been with MfSF for some time and is off to secondary school now.  During his time with us he has shown great dedication and talent, marked particularly this year with exam success - a mark of 131 (Distinction) at Grade 3 Clarinet.  Our tutor Miss Aitken will miss him!

August 2012 - West Kent

"Tutor Mr Shotton has been an absolute credit to MfSF and its reputation for inspiring children to become involved in music.  He gave a lot more to West Kingsdown school than he needed to and contributed to school concerts and presentations etc.  His enthusiasm and patience with the children was greatly appreciated and Lucy will continue playing clarinet at her next school.  Thank you again for a great programme." Mr Fitzgerald, parent from West Kingsdown Primary School

Our tutors often find themselves part of the school community, even though traditionally the role of visiting music tutor can be a lonely one.  Mr Shotton is a fine example of MfSF tutors who go the extra mile and make sure that music is accessible and enjoyable for more than just the pupils having the lessons.  Our thanks go to him for setting such a good example to other tutors and showing schools and parents what their children are capable of.

July 2012 - Leeds

"I just wanted to pass on my thanks to everyone for their wonderful efforts at the recent Leeds Fun Day.  I can't believe how much they achieved in such a short amount of time, the concert was brilliant!  Having never attended anything like this before, my son was understandably quite nervous at the start but he loved every minute of it (he even started playing again when we got home!).  My thanks also to Mr Clarke whose hard work has enabled Daniel to achieve the level of playing necessary for such an event.  He looks forward to his lesson every week!"

Daniel is one of many pupils who attended one of our Summer Fun Days.  It is important that pupils have the chance to play outside of their lessons and in much larger groups, and our Fun Days give that opportunity, particularly for pupils in smaller schools who do not have access to school bands.  Music in larger groups just adds to the enjoyment of learning an instrument!  Thank you to Daniel's mum for her feedback.

July 2012 - Lincolnshire

"I would just like to take this opportunity to thank you for the service you have provided for my daughter. As Emily is Year 6 she will be leaving Cranwell School at the end of July and therefore would like to stop her lessons for the new school year. Thank you again for the quality of service and an especially big thank you to Mr White who has been an excellent teacher for Emily. I am more than happy for you to use my comments, I can't praise MfSF enough!! Its given my daughter an opportunity I didn't have."

As always, it is our pleasure and we wish Emily all the best!

June 2012 - West Kent

"Just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work in preparing the children for the 'Music Showcase'.  They all performed very well with confidence and the parents who attended were very impressed.  I do appreciate all you do for the children and it is fantastic to see the progress that some have made in such a short space of time.  Next year we will have to arrange the concert on an evening when you are free so you can take the credit in person.  Thanks once again."

Lovely remarks for our tutor Mrs Beverley Prankard, from Music Co-ordinator Mrs Chris Pinner at St Mary's Island Primary School.

June 2012 - East Kent

"Just to inform you that our son, who is attending Christchurch Junior School in Ramsgate, is moving on to secondary school in September.  He enjoys his clarinet lessons very much and is hoping to continue at secondary school.  The lessons have been very inspirational and we would like to thank you and his teacher Mr Cook for arranging these wonderful lessons!"

It is always lovely to hear that children have been so inspired that they intend to continue even after their primary school years.  Good luck!

June 2012 - Somerset

"Just a quick one to say what a credit your pupils were to you yesterday evening at our concert.  They played really well and produced such a nice tone collectively.  Previous experience  of school concerts in an earlier life was that less well-drilled wind players can struggle to produce a decent sound or just can't get their intonation to match.  Your lot all did very well and were a highlight of the evening for me.  Thanks for all your hard work with them.  Enjoy half term!"

Lovely remarks for our tutor Mrs Amanda Garland, from Headteacher Mr Damian Knollys at Midsomer Norton Primary School.

May 2012 - Oxfordshire

"My son Jonathan Peach will be leaving his current school St Christopher's School, Langford at the end of the Summer Term.  He will therefore be stopping his clarinet lessons with Miss Aitken at that time.  Jonathan really enjoys playing his clarinet and will certainly continue it at his next school.  We are very grateful to Miss Aitken and all at MfSF for giving him the opportunity to start learning and for helping him to do so well."

As always, it is our pleasure and we wish Jonathan all the best!
