Exam Costs
All exam costs will be paid by the parent.
"Exam costs" will comprise the following:
- The exam itself
- The fee for the piano player in the exam
- Administration fee
Music for the exam will be provided by the parent and must be purchased in good time prior to the exam.
You may need to purchase up to 3 or 4 books, which may include additional music for the piano player. Photocopies of music will not be permitted in the examination and any pupil attempting to use copies may be disqualified.
Exam Allocation
Parents must understand that the dates for the exams are not chosen by MfSF, but by the Associated Board. MfSF are unable to guarantee a change of appointment in the event of a clash.
On the day of the exam
Parents are required to arrange transport to the examination venue.
You must arrive 15 minutes before the time of the exam. You must remember to take with you all instruments, original music, and any accessories such as spare reeds.
Withdrawal and Refunds
You may withdraw your child from the exam once the date has been allocated, but no refund of fees will be given.
Your tutor may withdraw your child from the exam if they feel that the pupil is not ready, but no refund of fees will be given. If your child's exam date is inconvenient for any reason, unfortunately MfSF are unable to refund original entry fees. If your child is ill and needs to withdraw from the exam, a doctors note must be forwarded to MfSF Head Office and the Associated Board may offer a partial refund. In all cases stated above, entry fees cannot be transferred to the next exam period.
Exam results
Your child's result will be sent to the mobile phone number you provide.
All certificates will be forwarded to your child's tutor and given out at school. If your tuition account is not up to date, your child's exam result may be withheld. If your child is in Year 6 and your result arrives after the end of the Summer Term, the certificate will be sent to your home address.
